Friendship exchange to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of Cuba

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 29, on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of Cuba (January 1, 1959 - January 1, 2018), the Standing Committee of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association of Nghe An province organized a Friendship Exchange and summarized the association's work in 2017, and discussed the work program for 2018.

The program is an annual activity to educate about tradition and strengthen the special friendship, solidarity, cohesion and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba.

At the program, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association of Nghe An province summarized the association's work in 2017. In 2017, the Standing Committee of the Association sent a delegation directly to the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi to pay respects to the late President Fidel Castro, wrote a condolence book to the Embassy's staff and the Cuban people; discussed the issue of cooperation between Vinh Medical University and Cuba Medical University; established 5 more branches...

Implementing the tasks of 2018, the Association determined to continue to proactively carry out annual solidarity and friendship activities with key activities such as: acting as a bridge between Cuban localities and Nghe An in the fields of economic and social development cooperation; organizing activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Moncada Uprising (July 26, 1953)...

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association of Nghe An province awarded certificates of merit to two members with outstanding contributions to the association's work.
