Sports and cultural exchange activities to celebrate Vietnamese Doctors' Day.

(Baonghean.vn) - To commemorate the 59th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 – February 27, 2014), from February 23 to February 25, 2014, the Nghe An Department of Health organized a badminton competition and cultural exchange event. Attending the event were representatives from the Department of Health, the Nghe An Provincial Labor Union, and a large number of officials and employees from the health sector.

This year's badminton tournament features 60 athletes from specialized centers, provincial hospitals, and public and private hospitals in Vinh City and surrounding areas. The athletes compete in two categories: men's and women's doubles under 45 years old; and men's and women's doubles over 45 years old. The top two teams from each category will advance to the finals.

After two days of competition, the results are as follows: The Psychiatric Hospital won first place in both the women's doubles (under and over 45 years old) and men's doubles (over 45 years old) categories from the Center for Malaria, Parasite and Entomology Prevention and Control won first place…

Dr. Bui Dinh Long - Director of the Department of Health congratulated the teams that won first and second place in the badminton friendly competition.

First prize in the women's doubles over 45 category was awarded to the Psychiatric Hospital.

The cultural exchange featured 18 performances of solo and group singing, as well as short plays, all presented by amateur singers and artists. The performances focused on praising the Party and the country, and honoring the medical professionals in President Ho Chi Minh's homeland.

The exchange program is a practical cultural, artistic, and sports activity for healthcare professionals to improve their health, showcase their talents, and thereby encourage doctors to further develop and improve their professional skills to better serve the people.
