French professor provides professional training to staff of Thanh An Saigon Hospital
(Baonghean) – On November 24, Professor Patrice Baillet – Chairman of the Infection Control Council, Clinique du Paris Hospital (France) directly trained the staff of Thanh An Saigon General Hospital.
Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nghiem - Professional Director; Hoang Van Lich - Deputy Director of Administration and Nguyen Thanh Mai - Deputy Director along with all hospital staff.
Nowadays, the problem of hospital infections is becoming increasingly urgent, reducing the quality of treatment, increasing the rate of complications, increasing the use of antibiotics, increasing the cost of treatment and prolonging the length of hospital stay.
The training program aims to equip medical staff with knowledge, improve the effectiveness of infection control work, and minimize the number of patients with infections in hospitals.

At the training session, Professor Patrice Baillet provided basic knowledge about the causes of hospital infections. The main agents causing hospital infections (NHIs) are mainly gram-positive bacilli, gram-negative cocci and fungi.
At the same time, it outlines measures to prevent post-operative infections and hospital infections; focusing on sterilization and hygiene in the hospital. This includes: Cleaning and sterilizing tools, equipment, work rooms, as well as personal hygiene; ensuring that they are not a source of infection.

In addition, with the aim of improving knowledge about the proper use of antibiotics and preventing antibiotic resistance - a current threat to human health, Professor Patrice Baillet also provides hospital staff with basic knowledge about preventing antibiotic resistance.
Through the training program, hospital staff and medical staff are provided with necessary and useful knowledge to apply in order to improve the effectiveness of post-operative infection prevention, hospital infection prevention and antibiotic resistance prevention; and improve the quality of treatment in the future.

Recently, Thanh An Saigon General Hospital has cooperated with K Hospital (Hanoi), sending specialized doctors to guide hospital staff and doctors to directly detect, diagnose and prevent early cancer; especially uterine cancer, adnexal cancer in women...
The hospital also sent staff to participate in the "Coastal Autumn" Pain Control Conference to promote combined strength and better serve patients; and will apply it at the hospital in the near future.
