Fierce fighting 35 km from Kiev, 200 people on the Ukrainian side were injured
The mayor of Vasilkiv, 35 km south of the capital Kiev, said fierce fighting was taking place in the city centre.
"The place is completely controlled by fighting," Mayor Natalia Balasynovich said on the morning of February 26. She also announced that the damage on the Ukrainian side was "a lot of wounded, unfortunately the number is about 200 people."

A series of gunshots also rang out in the capital Kiev, near the city center at 5:45 a.m. (local time) in the southeast.
Satellite images taken on the afternoon of February 25 show traffic jams as many people wanted to leave Ukraine to go to Romania.
