Teachers and students in Nghe An said the reference test is easy, there will be a lot of 10s
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 7, the Ministry of Education and Training also announced a set of reference questions for subjects in the 2020 high school graduation exam. Many opinions from teachers and students in Nghe An said that the questions were too easy and predicted that there would be a flood of 10s.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Yen - Chemistry teacher - Thanh Chuong 1 High School:
This is the second time this school year that the Ministry of Education and Training has issued a sample test to serve the final exam of grade 12 students (the first time on April 3 and the second time on May 7). The main purpose of the test is to serve the recognition of high school graduation, so compared to previous years, this second sample test has a clearer classification in the last 4 questions. Therefore, to ensure graduation, this test is a bit difficult.

In this year's exam, in my opinion, there was no question as difficult as the previous years. With this level of questions, I think this year's exam scores will be high. This can also be repeated similarly to the 2017 school year exam - the first year the Ministry issued exam questions with 2 purposes: graduation and university and college admission. At that time, the questions were considered easy, so there was a rain of 10s and the candidates' exam scores were also very high.
Currently, with the reference questions that the Ministry has just issued, we see that the questions are easier than the questions of the 2017 school year and there will definitely be a lot of 10s and will cause difficulties for schools in considering admission.
Because if the test is easy, it will not be possible to distinguish between excellent students and good or near-excellent students, leading to a large number of high-scoring candidates and not being able to classify the top candidates. Personally, I think that if universities and colleges want to recruit quality candidates and classify the input, they must have their own plan to supplement the results of the high school graduation exam.

The second reference test of Literature is more in-depth than the first sample test. Overall, it is suitable for students to ensure knowledge and skills standards, in line with the general education program and the Ministry's reduced program and is completely within the grade 12 program.

This question also has a pretty good classification. For example, the test requires students to feel the beauty of the excerpt from the poem Tay Tien (poet Quang Dung). With this test, students must analyze the picture of nature and the image of the soldier. However, to get a good or excellent score, students must grasp the language and stylistic characteristics of the poet Quang Dung. Students must see that the beauty of the picture of nature will be the background for the image of the soldier.
Currently, with this topic, we have also let students try it and found that in topic 2, the quality of good and excellent students is about 50%.

This year I took the A1 exam (Math - Physics - English). After doing the exam questions, I found that compared to the first time, the second exam had a much lower level of differentiation and if it was for graduation, it would be very easy for students. For example, in Math, the content of the geometry section was quite simple and did not require much thinking from students. In Physics, there were almost no difficult questions and there was only one question left but it was not too difficult. In English, the number of complex vocabulary and grammar was also much reduced, making it easier to solve the questions. When I did this exam myself, I scored quite high for Math, Physics: 9.4 points and English: 9.6 points. The other students in the class also scored above 25 points.

Regarding the 2020 graduation reference exam, teacher Nguyen Tho - Teacher at Huynh Thuc Khang High School also conducted a quick survey on students' feelings when many opinions affirmed that the second reference exam was easy, so it was difficult to differentiate good students (most good students can get a score of 9 to 9.5) and led to a situation where many top schools could use additional criteria for admission. In fact, up to 86.25% of students were worried that this could happen (69/80 students).
After the Ministry of Education and Training announced the reference test, the Department of Education and Training requested schools to direct professional teams/groups to analyze the Reference Test for the 2020 High School Graduation Exam. During the analysis process, it is necessary to compare with the analysis results of the Reference Test for the 2020 National High School Graduation Exam announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on April 3, 2020 that the school has conducted to compare the scope of the program, distribution of test content, number of questions/topics, content, types of exercises and corresponding knowledge levels. From there, it is necessary to unify the adjustment of review content and time, create self-study test questions, and appropriate mock tests for students.
Based on the review plan of each subject, the school reviews and adjusts the review plan for the 2020 National High School Exam. When adjusting the school's plan, it is necessary to pay attention to classifying students in terms of ability and aspirations according to the subject combination to group classes and allocate appropriate review time. Assign experienced teachers to support grade 12 teachers in developing and implementing subject review plans.
The review content must be consistent with the objectives of the High School Graduation Exam, while ensuring knowledge and skills for students who wish to use the 2020 High School Graduation Exam results for admission to Universities and Colleges.
The organization of review sessions for students after the end of the school year program must be agreed upon by the school with parents and students and organized in accordance with current regulations.
