Russian kindergarten teacher loses job for posting sexy photos online

Under pressure from parents, a kindergarten in Yekaterinburg, Russia, fired a female teacher for posting sexy photos on social media.

Viktoria Demeshkina, 26, a teacher at a kindergarten in Yekaterinburg, Russia's fourth-largest city, was fired after some parents of children studying at the school accidentally saw her sexy photos on Instagram, Sun reported on September 22.

"I accidentally found the teacher's personal Instagram account and many of the photos on it had sexual content. The way she posed and her facial expressions all made viewers think of sex. And that is not suitable for someone who works with children," said Svetlana, the mother of a child studying at the school.

"The way she dresses, the way she looks can have a bad influence on the children," this mother concluded.

Soon after, many other parents expressed their concerns to the school board. After investigating, the principal agreed with the parents that the photos Ms. Demeshkina posted online were inappropriate and asked her to take them down.

"Those photos show moments in my life. And the meaning behind them is nothing more than that. I don't see anything immoral about those photos," the teacher said, refusing to delete her personal account.

The school board decided to cut Ms. Demeshkina’s bonus. Kindergartens in Russia often pay teachers bonuses and monthly allowances to make up for their meager base salaries.

"I also share photos with my friends on social networks. But the photos are mostly of sports activities or fun and relaxation in the mountains. If you are a teacher, you should behave professionally," Kristina Vyugova, a colleague of Ms. Demeshkina, emphasized.

Shocked by her dismissal, Demeshkina said she had never shown her private photos to her students. The young teacher is looking for a new job.
