Mountain teachers cook nutritious porridge, sticky rice, and mushrooms to earn money to buy blankets for students.
(Baonghean.vn) - Hoping that students will have enough warm blankets in the winter, teachers at Tam Quang Kindergarten have come up with an initiative to raise funds to buy blankets for the children.
Tam Quang is a border commune of Tuong Duong district, the economic life of the people is facing many difficulties. This winter, many students of Tam Quang Kindergarten go to school but do not have enough warm clothes and blankets.
Faced with that reality, for nearly a week now, the school teachers have organized the cooking of nutritious porridge, bamboo-tube rice, and meatballs to sell to raise funds to buy warm blankets for the children.

Every morning at 4:30, the teachers are present at the school to cook porridge, and at noon, while the students are sleeping, they make sticky rice and mushrooms. In order not to affect teaching and learning, the teachers have assigned people to sell porridge, pick up children, cook sticky rice, and watch over the sleeping children. The porridge selling activity only lasts until 7:30 in the morning. Sticky rice and mushrooms are sold in the late afternoon when the children have been picked up by their families.
