The evening classes are mainly attended by students who study far from home and are staying at local houses in Con Cuong town or Bong Khe commune. In addition to two classes at school, in the evening from 7pm to 10pm, students will continue to go to class to review. Photo: My Ha

On average, teacher Dang Trong Quang (Math teacher) will participate in 1-2 guidance sessions for students every week. This year, although he teaches grade 11, he and his team of grade 12 teachers will support students. In these special classes, teacher Quang does not seem to have a fixed curriculum but will directly guide each student. In many classes, he is in charge of 2-3 classes. In the photo: A group of Dan Lai ethnic students from Chau Khe commune are being guided by the teacher to solve the 12th grade graduation exam. Having to study far from home, they are nurturing the dream of passing the entrance exam to the University of Education, majoring in Primary Education. Student Le Thi Dao (front row, right) said: I took the C exam, so I am not very good at Math. Currently, my average score in Math is only nearly 4 points, so I am very worried. In the evening, when I go to school, I feel more secure because I have teachers and friends to support me. Photo: My Ha

Not only are teachers directly instructing students, evening classes are also a place for students who study far from home to share and support each other. The atmosphere in the classes on exam days is organized seriously and effectively. Photo: My Ha

Male student Hoang Anh Duc - class 12D, lives in Tra Lan town - Con Cuong district. This school year, he is nurturing his dream of entering the Business Administration major. Currently, Anh Duc has taken the IELTS exam and participated in the Competency Assessment Test. In the final days, instead of choosing to study at home, he volunteered to go to school to attend classes with his classmates because he found this model quite effective. In the photo, teacher Phan Tran Hai - Vice Principal of the school is guiding Anh Duc to review the exam questions and advise him on how to choose a school that suits his abilities. Photo: My Ha

In the evening class, in addition to students who are staying near the school, many students from far away also volunteer to come and study. In the photo, student Lang Quoc Thai, lives in Ke Me village, Mau Duc commune. Every evening, he rides his motorbike nearly 30 km from home to school and back to be guided by his teacher. This male student is nurturing the dream of studying Physical Education and Sports. Teacher Nguyen Thi Hong Ngoc (in yellow shirt) shared: I am both a homeroom teacher and a 12th grade Geography teacher. During exam season, it will be harder for teachers to teach at the end of the year, but if you put your heart and responsibility into your students, you will not find it difficult anymore. The special thing about our school is that most of the students are from difficult circumstances, many of them have to study far from home, without the support of their parents, so they have a very hard time. Therefore, in addition to supporting students with knowledge, we also do orientation work in the hope that more students will choose the path of going to university, college, or vocational training, so that they can change their lives. At this time, although the 2023-2024 school year has entered its final days, in many high schools, review classes for 12th graders are still being organized systematically. Notably, in addition to organizing regular classes at school, many schools also organize extra classes completely free of charge to support students in their exam preparation. In the photo: Free classes for final year students have been organized by Nghi Loc 5 High School since early February. These classes usually start in period 5 (late morning) or after 4pm. Students participating are mainly those at risk of failing graduation or have limited academic performance. Photo: My Ha

Before organizing this class, Nghi Loc 5 High School organized tests and classified students. After each course, the school will organize a mock test to assess their abilities. Because the test results of each student are different, the number of students in the remedial classes will fluctuate frequently. At the end of the school year, in addition to students at risk of failing the graduation exam, many students with good academic performance also voluntarily participate in the hope of improving their exam results. To maintain the tutoring classes, the school's board of directors and youth union joined in. Teacher Le Van Hao - Secretary of the school's Youth Union shared: At first, when we first implemented the program, many students deliberately did not participate. Therefore, we organized parent meetings and talked directly with the students. Every day, the school's youth union would check the number of students in each class. If any student was absent, they would be reminded and their parents would be informed to coordinate the organization. After a while, the classes became regular and the students' academic performance improved significantly. Photo: My Ha

In addition to providing review instructions for each class, teachers also directly instruct students after each lesson. Teacher Nguyen Thi Hong Anh - English teacher said: English is the most difficult subject for us. For example, my class A5, at the end of the first semester, the average survey score was only 4.06 points and we were very worried. In the past, in addition to organizing review, tutoring, and extra tutoring for students, we have regularly given exercises on the Azota system, requiring students to do exercises on the LMS system of the Department of Education and Training. The students' exercises will be checked by teachers every day and graded and corrected directly on each student's work. After more than 3 months of perseverance, in the recent mock exam of the Department of Education and Training, our English score reached 4.96 and we are aiming to increase it to 5.01 in the real exam. After many months of efforts to increase tutoring for students, the number of students at risk of failing the graduation exam at Nghi Loc 5 High School is gradually decreasing, to only about 20 students. The good news is that in the mock exam organized by the Department of Education and Training, the school's overall ranking rose to 21st place out of 105 units in the province, with many subjects showing remarkable progress. Teacher Nguyen Anh Duong - Vice Principal said: Despite many difficulties, the school has made great efforts for the students and for the quality of education. The ultimate goal is for students to have a successful exam season and have many opportunities to be admitted to universities and colleges, and have enough knowledge to be able to choose many jobs in the future.
