Ban Thach Parish starts construction of new church
(Baonghean.vn) - The church was started to be built on an area of 1050 m2 (21m x 50m); the project is expected to be completed and put into use within 2 years.
Ban Thach Parish, Thanh Khe Commune, Thanh Chuong District, has just held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new church. Attending were Bishop Alphonso Nguyen Huu Long - Bishop of Vinh Diocese, along with many priests and parishioners inside and outside the parish.
Established in June 2017, separated from Mo Vinh parish, Thanh Khe commune, Thanh Chuong district. Ban Thach parish currently has about 1,400 parishioners, with Father Giuse Chu Dinh Truong as parish priest.

After nearly 2 years of establishment, the parish's activities take place in a small wooden church that has existed for 100 years and is now seriously degraded. In this situation, to meet the religious needs of parishioners in the area, the Chairman of the parish pastoral council organized donations from parishioners and mobilized benefactors and parishioners living far from home.

In his sermon at the groundbreaking mass, Bishop Nguyen Huu Long called on the parish priest and parishioners of Ban Thach parish to join hands and unite to build and soon put the parish church into use.
