A wealthy Chinese farmer steals chickens to buy gas for his luxury BMW.
Police in Linshui County, Sichuan Province, China recently arrested a man suspected of committing thefts starting in April and using the money to fill up a BMW worth 2 million yuan ($290,000).

The suspect, 50 years old, is a wealthy farmer. He owns a large and beautiful property with a multi-storey villa. However, the suspect has been stealing chickens and ducks since he encountered financial difficulties to buy gasoline. "BMW is a car that consumes a lot of gas," he said.Red Star Newsquoted the suspect as saying.
Police said they identified the suspect by monitoring surveillance cameras installed on the road. The cameras showed the man often rode a motorbike to villages late at night. He stole chickens and ducks, raised them at home and looked for buyers.

According to a police officer, the suspect drove a BMW and fled during a police pursuit on May 22. "He drove faster than us on the highway. We couldn't catch him," said Zhang Hua, head of the police station in Linshui County.
Police finally had a chance to catch the suspect when he drove off the highway and turned onto a country road.
