Hide dozens of kilograms of silver worth billions under shoe soles to transfer across the border

20 kg of silver in the form of small, round, white particles were disguised by the subjects in plastic bags and hidden under the soles of shoes for illegal transport across the border.

On November 11, Quang Ninh Provincial Police announced that they had just issued a decision to prosecute the case "Smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across borders”.

Along with that, Quang Ninh Provincial Police issued decisions to prosecute Vu Duy Khuong (born in 1996, residing in Mong Cai 2 ward, Quang Ninh province) and Vu Dinh Trieu (born in 1993, residing in Ke Sat commune, Hai Phong city) for the crime of "Smuggling"; Decision to prosecute Phung Trung Dung (born in 2008), Vu Thi Hang (born in 1985) and Luong Van Tuan (born in 1991, all 3 in Mong Cai 2 ward, Quang Ninh province) for the crime of "Illegal transportation of goods across the border".

Previously, at 7:00 p.m. on October 20, at the Mong Cai International Border Gate parking lot, the Economic Police Department presided over and coordinated with functional forces to inspect and confiscate a total of 20 kg of silver, worth more than 1 billion VND, from the persons and vehicles of Vu Thi Hang, Phung Trung Dung, and Luong Van Tuan.

The silver, in the form of small, round, white particles, was disguised by the subjects in plastic bags measuring about 15x8cm and hidden under the soles of shoes for illegal transport across the border.

The initial investigation determined that the silver was hired by Vu Duy Khuong, Hang, Tuan, and Dung to transport from Dong Hung city (China) to Vietnam through Mong Cai international border gate, with a salary of 20 NDT/kg (equivalent to about 75,000 VND/kg) to sell to Vu Dinh Trieu for profit.

When Hang, Tuan, and Dung were transporting the silver from Mong Cai International Border Gate to the parking lot of Mong Cai International Border Gate to Vu Thi Hang's house to hide, they were discovered and arrested by the police.
