Man sentenced to life imprisonment for hiding drugs on a clothesline.
Ngan Van Pit invested a large sum of money in drug trafficking. To avoid detection by the police, Pit did not keep the drugs in his house but hid them on a clothesline. At midnight, while Pit was delivering the drugs to a customer, he was caught red-handed by the police.
The People's Court of Nghe An province recently held a trial for the defendant Ngan Van Pit (born in 1992), residing in Nhon Mai commune, Tuong Duong district, on the charge of...Illegal trafficking of narcotics.
Ngan Van Pit is a defendant with a bad criminal record, having previously served time in prison for drug-related offenses. That was in 2013, when Pit received a 10-year sentence for illegally trafficking narcotics.
Pit was imprisoned at the young age of 21, but was released early at 28. One might have thought that after that setback, this young man would turn over a new leaf and start a new life. However, Pit fell back into his old ways.

According to the indictment, on the afternoon of April 29, 2024, while Pit was playing in the Xoi Voi waterfall area in the commune, he met a man speaking with a Thanh Hoa accent (whose identity and address are unknown).
During the conversation, the man asked Pit if he had methamphetamine for sale, saying he needed to buy 10 packets. Pit quoted a price of 30 million dong and then arranged a time and place for the transaction.
The next morning, Pit went to Pa Khom village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, and bought 40 packets of methamphetamine from a Hmong man for 80 million dong. Pit paid 52 million dong upfront and asked to defer payment for the rest. Pit brought the purchased drugs home and hid them on a clothesline, covering them with a cloth.
At 11:45 PM on May 2nd, while Pit was delivering drugs to a customer, he was arrested by the police along with 10 packets of methamphetamine. A search of his residence yielded an additional 30 plastic bags containing methamphetamine.
The investigating agency determined that in this case, Pit is criminally liable for the act of buying and selling more than 838 grams of narcotics.
During his second court appearance, the defendant appeared quite calm. He confessed to trafficking drugs because he was greedy for the large sum of money. He stated that after being released from prison, he worked as a freelancer and farmer to make a living. However, due to the lure of large sums of money, he relapsed into drug trafficking despite knowing that it was against the law.
Considering the defendant's actions were dangerous to society and that he trafficked a large quantity of drugs, the court sentenced Ngan Van Pit to life imprisonment for the crime of "Illegal trafficking of narcotics".
