Fireworks hidden in tires, transported across borders

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Province Police have just discovered and arrested a case of transporting nearly 500kg of various types of firecrackers on their way to be sold.

On the morning of January 1, 2017, in the area of ​​National Highway 46, in Nam Dan Town (Nam Dan District), the Working Group of the Environmental Police Department coordinated with Team 46 of the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police to discover a truck with Laotian license plate UN 0876 driven by Nguyen Ba Thin (born in 1989), residing in Thanh Phong Commune, Thanh Chuong District, showing suspicious signs, so they conducted an administrative inspection.

Through inspection, it was discovered that inside the truck's trunk, tires and gas tank, there was a very large quantity of various types of firecrackers, weighing up to nearly 500 kg.

At the investigation agency, Nguyen Ba Thin confessed that the above goods were firecrackers, including "monk" firecrackers, fireworks, "big firecrackers"... He bought the above firecrackers in Laos, then transported them through Nam Can International Border Gate to the lowlands for consumption.
