(Baonghean.vn) - "From afar, I saw a black car plunging straight into the lake. When we got there, the car had already sunk, and the lake was deep so we couldn't save the person in time," said Mr. Trong, a witness to the car falling into the brick kiln lake.

Mr. Dinh Van Trong (born in 1962, residing in Nam Thai commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An) was one of the first witnesses to arrive at the scene of the 4-seat car falling into a brick kiln lake, killing two people on the afternoon of April 10.

Hundreds of people watched search and rescue forces search for two victims in the accident.

After the rescue team completed the search on the evening of April 10, Mr. Trong was still shocked when he recalled the moment he was helpless to save two people drowning in the sunken car.

Mr. Trong said that at around 1:00 p.m. on April 10, he was riding his motorbike through the Nam Hung - Nam Thai inter-commune road, heading towards Highway 46, when he saw a black 4-seater car driving in the distance. A few minutes later, Mr. Trong was surprised to see the car plunge straight into the brick kiln lake located right next to the road.

“When I arrived on my motorbike, the car was already deep in the water. Realizing that someone was in trouble inside, I called for help from nearby residents, but the car sank too quickly. Moreover, the lake here is very deep, so no one could save it in time,” Mr. Trong recounted.

Due to the lack of rescue vehicles on site, the people quickly reported the incident to the local authorities and functional forces. Upon receiving the news, the Nam Dan District People's Committee mobilized nearly 100 people from the police force, soldiers of Brigade 414, militia and self-defense forces, and people from Nam Thai, Thanh Khai and Thanh Luong communes to quickly go to the scene to rescue the victims and salvage the vehicle.

At the same time, the Traffic Police of Nam Dan District Police were also present to regulate traffic, avoid congestion, and serve the rescue work. Mr. Le Chu Hung, Chief of Nam Thai Commune Police, said that after salvaging the 4-seat car, the body of Mr. Cao Tien Son (born in 1978, driver) was found trapped in the car.

Because the body of Mr. Nguyen Trong Bay (born in 1950) fell out of the car and into deep water, it caused difficulties for the search and rescue team. At about 5:25 p.m. on April 10, Mr. Bay's body was found by a team of divers and local people using small fishing nets. Mr. Bay's body was only about 5 meters from the shore.

Initially, examining the scene of the accident, the traffic police of Nam Dan district determined that the 4-seat car lost control and plunged into the lake without colliding with anything.

The car involved in the accident was slightly damaged and was removed from the scene on the evening of April 10.

By the evening of April 10, after determining that there was no third person in the car, the search and rescue team stopped the rescue work and handed over the bodies of the two victims to their families for burial.

It is known that the area where the two people had an accident is a lake left over from mining for bricks, with a depth of 10-12 meters. According to many residents, this lake is located next to the inter-commune road, with a lot of traffic, but there are no warnings of danger or barriers.

As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, at around 1:00 p.m. on April 10, Mr. Cao Tien Son (born in 1978, residing in Hamlet 13, Thanh Luong Commune, Thanh Chuong District) was driving a 4-seat car with license plate 37A-120.54, Altis, carrying Mr. Nguyen Trong Bay (born in 1950, residing in Hamlet 2, Thanh Luong Commune, Thanh Chuong District) and suddenly fell into a brick kiln lake in Nam Thai Commune, trapping both people in the car.

The accident resulted in both people dying from drowning. At the time of the accident, Mr. Bay was the Director of Rao Gang Brick Factory, located in Thanh Khai Commune, Thanh Chuong District.
