Killed her husband and forced her lover to have plastic surgery to replace him.
Police in the Indian state of Telangana said they are investigating a bizarre case in which a woman killed her husband and tried to "magically" transform her lover into her late husband.
Swati Reddy, 27, a nurse at a private hospital in Nagarkurnool town, has been married to Sudhakar Reddy, 32, for three years and has two children.
Police said Swati Reddy was in a relationship with Rajesh Ajjakolu, a physiotherapist, and planned to kill her husband and seize his property.

On November 27, the two allegedly injected Mr Sudhakar with an anesthetic, knocked him unconscious and then killed him. The couple later confessed to burning and burying Mr Sudhakar’s body in the woods. The young wife then poured acid on her lover’s face and told her husband’s family that her husband had been attacked by an unknown person.
Their plan was to have Rajesh undergo plastic surgery to impersonate Swati's husband. Rajesh was treated in the hospital and the two believed they could pull off the plot successfully.
However, police said Mr Reddy's relatives became suspicious when Rajesh refused to eat mutton soup they brought to the hospital while he was being treated for burns.
Mr Reddy's family was shocked when Rajesh told hospital staff that he was a vegetarian. In fact, Swati's husband was not a vegetarian.

Reddy's family then noticed several abnormalities in Rajesh's behavior and asked him to identify his family members. Unable to answer questions, Rajesh stopped talking and started making signs.
Mr Reddy's family went to the police because they suspected someone was impersonating Mr Reddy. The victim's brother asked to check Rajesh's fingerprints and his strange behaviour.
During interrogation, Swati confessed to killing her husband with the help of Rajesh. Swati was arrested on December 10.
Police said the young wife was inspired for her brutal act by a 2014 Telugu film.
In the film, a young man is injured and a doctor performs plastic surgery on him to make him look like her dead son. A police officer says that Rajesh will also be arrested after he is discharged from the hospital.
According to BBC, the victim's body has not yet been found.
