Half a month ago, a clip appeared on social media live-streaming at Mr. Phan Hoi’s house, showing a red-shanked douc langur being butchered and used to make alcohol. The incident was later condemned by the online community, causing the man to remove the clip.
Authorities determined that this animal was caught by Mr. Son and sold to Mr. Hong for 1.1 million VND.
After buying it, Mr. Hong called Phan Hoi, Quy, Sang, and Quang to Sang's house to kill the langur to use as an appetizer for drinking alcohol. While butchering the animal, Phan Hoi used his phone to record and broadcast it live on his personal Facebook.
