Gifu will transfer the most advanced farming techniques to Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 24, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development had a working session with the Gifu province delegation to discuss details of cooperation in the agricultural sector.in the near future.

Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders and experts from the Departments of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Development, a delegation of experts in charge of international and agricultural issues of Gifu, and representatives of a number of businesses operating in the two localities.

Overview of the working session.

Nghe An is a province with a large area, favorable natural conditions, and potential for agricultural development. Currently, a number of specialized agricultural areas have been formed in the province. In recent times, Nghe An has also received significant support from the Japanese organization JICA in agricultural development.

Gifu is interested in exploring investment in many fields in Nghe An, focusing on agricultural development, especially the cultivation industry. To make the cooperation more concrete and practical, in June and July, Gifu will send 1-2 technical experts to Nghe An to learn about the agricultural development situation and grasp the province's strengths, before Nghe An also sends 2 agricultural officials to survey and learn farming experience in Gifu.

Speaking at the meeting, Japanese experts affirmed that the important factors for the quality of growth and yield of crops are clean water, favorable soil conditions, and fertile soil. In addition, it is necessary to focus on limiting the use of inorganic fertilizers and pesticides, applying advanced techniques to agricultural production, bringing clean products to consumers.

Experts emphasized that Japan in general and Gifu in particular pay much attention to Nghe An's agricultural potential, and are committed to transferring and guiding advanced agricultural techniques to Nghe An.

Mr. Tran Anh Son - Chairman of the Association of Outstanding Enterprises said that Nghe An enterprises lack technology and brands, and need to cooperate, form joint ventures and associate with Japanese enterprises to meet domestic and foreign needs before the threshold of TPP integration.

The members attending the meeting actively discussed the contents to develop Nghe An agriculture in a more modern direction, focusing on proposing effective methods of transferring modern technology, promoting joint ventures and associations between Nghe An enterprises and Gifu enterprises in the agricultural sector, bringing Nghe An agricultural products to rise and compete in the context of TPP integration.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hai Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs said that he will quickly coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant parties to develop a survey program for specialized areas, water resources, and soil conditions to serve the upcoming survey trip of Japanese experts. The knowledge gathered after the study trip and learning about advanced farming techniques in Gifu will be widely disseminated and detailed by Nghe An agricultural officials for local businesses and farmers to know and apply./.
