The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that currently in the North of our country, a strong cold air mass has formed and is moving slowly to the South.

Around noon on February 23, this cold air mass will "attack" the northern provinces, then the Central region.

Due to the influence of the strong cold air, the North has scattered rain and light rain. The coastal provinces of the Central region have rain since the afternoon of February 23, with some places experiencing moderate rain and thunderstorms.

On land, the wind changes direction to northeast level 3, coastal areas level 3-4, Bac Bo Gulf, northern East Sea area, including the sea area of ​​Hoang Sa archipelago (Vietnam), northeast wind gradually increases to level 6-7. Gusts level 8; rough sea, average wave height 2.5-3.5m; dangerous for ships.

The risk of natural disasters has reached level 1. The highest temperature in the regions has generally decreased by 10-12 degrees Celsius. From February 24 onwards, the North will turn cold, with severe cold in the mountainous areas. The high mountainous areas will experience severe cold.

To minimize all damage caused by cold, farmers in the North, especially in mountainous provinces, need to have the most effective cold prevention measures for livestock and young plants of all kinds.

In the Northwest, the low temperature dropped to 13-15 degrees Celsius. In the mountainous areas, it was 8-10 degrees Celsius, and Sa Pa (Lao Cai) experienced severe cold of 4-6 degrees Celsius.

In the Northeast, including the capital Hanoi, temperatures will generally range from 13-15 degrees Celsius, in highland areas from 9-11 degrees Celsius, and in Mau Son (Lang Son) temperatures may drop to 2-4 degrees Celsius.
