(Baonghean) - Military Hospital 4 - Logistics Department, Military Region 4 is the final hospital of the Military Region with the task of caring for and protecting the health of officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces, units of the Ministry of National Defense stationed in the Military Region and people in Nghe An and Ha Tinh; carrying out international missions to help Laos; ensuring military medicine in the Truong Sa archipelago; and carrying out emergency missions to prevent and combat storms, floods, disasters and natural disasters in the Military Region.

With the central political task of caring for and protecting the health of officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Military Region 4, on average every year, Military Hospital 4 has organized medical examinations for nearly 70,000 people; admitted and treated nearly 20,000 patients; provided emergency care for over 2,000 cases; performed surgeries for nearly 2,500 cases, of which major surgeries accounted for nearly 70%; the rate of recovery and discharge from the hospital was 73%; the rate of hospital bed utilization was over 200% with the average number of treatment days for patients being from 9 to 10 days...

Along with that, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Hospital determined that the unit must perform well other tasks such as in the 12 Military-Civilian Medical Program, contributing to the treatment and health care of the people; participating in the National Target Program on Health and New Rural Development; every year the hospital organizes delegations of cadres, doctors, staff, technicians to remote areas to examine, treat, provide health consultation, give gifts and provide free medicine to policy beneficiaries, poor families, poor students with good academic performance with a budget of up to hundreds of millions of VND from the contributions and savings of hospital cadres and staff. Specifically, in 2016, the hospital organized 6 working delegations to Bao Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district; Nghia Loc commune, Nghia Dan district; Tuong Son commune, Anh Son district; Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city (Nghe An province); Muong Lat district (Thanh Hoa province); flood-affected areas of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces to examine and provide free medicine to over 3,000 people (of which over 1,000 are Catholics); with a total amount of over 300 million VND.

After 60 years of fighting, serving in combat, building and growing, with the affection, intelligence, solidarity and responsibility of generations of medical officers, doctors and staff working in the hospital, always devoted to the cause of taking care of the health of officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces and the people; up to now, Military Hospital 4 has been honored to receive the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal from the President.

In order to perform well the tasks in the coming time with the increasingly high requirements in medical examination and treatment, Military Hospital 4 sets out the working motto for each officer and employee: "Actively study - Strive comprehensively - Sustainable development; put the interests and safety of patients first; always aim for patient satisfaction". In addition, the hospital quickly completes the infrastructure, invests in purchasing more modern medical equipment and machinery; actively trains, fosters, and improves the professional qualifications and skills of the medical team to keep up with the advances in medicine.

Continue to promote the improvement of medical ethics, the quality of medical examination and treatment is increasingly better, gradually implementing and realizing the goals set by the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the hospital. Promote the improvement of quality, efficiency of medical circulation, medical examination and treatment, application of science in examination and treatment to affirm the prestige, strength and position of the hospital in the context of the health sector moving towards financial autonomy. Manage, exploit and use equipment effectively. Ensure timely and adequate medicines and medical supplies according to plan. Innovate the form and effectively perform the tasks of the line, the 12-military-civilian medical program combined. Coordinate with units and forces to organize medical examination and health consultation for people in remote, isolated and border areas. Build satellite military medical facilities of the hospital.
