On the morning of August 4, in Vinh City, Khang Thinh Joint Stock Company and Netafim organized a workshop on water-saving irrigation for citrus trees. Attending were Mr. Nguyen Van Lap, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and representatives of agricultural units and agricultural extension centers of Ha Tinh and Phu Tho provinces. |
Up to now, Khang Thinh Joint Stock Company and Netafim have provided water-saving irrigation systems (Israeli drip irrigation technology) for more than 1,700 hectares in the province, including: 1,000 hectares of raw materials for animal feed; more than 200 hectares of vegetables, fruits and medicinal herbs mainly applied to TH Group's vegetable production; 100 hectares of sugarcane applied to Nasu & Song Con sugar factories; 400 hectares of citrus trees, oranges and grapefruits concentrated in Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Thai Hoa, Con Cuong, Tan Ky districts...

At the workshop, the Company introduced technology, applied drip irrigation processes and many successful application models in the province. At the same time, in the coming time, the Company will build model models applying the most advanced water-saving irrigation systems in regions, areas and on dominant crops as places for sightseeing and learning. Develop standard irrigation processes for plants in different regions as guidance documents, and propagate to provinces for gradual replication.
Organize many seminars on applying model irrigation processes for upland crops and other topics so that provinces have the opportunity to exchange, discuss, learn and share experiences with each other.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Lap - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: Nghe An is one of the provinces heavily affected by climate change, droughts appear more severe, surface water resources in the dry season are depleted. Meanwhile, the demand for water is increasing, the use of irrigation water for agriculture is very large, so applying advanced irrigation methods to save water is extremely necessary.
