The fashion world joins together to attack and protest Melania Trump
Many fashion brands have designed shirts with the words: "I care" to respond to the controversial jacket worn by US First Lady Melania Trump recently.
On June 21, the First Lady of the United States visited a detention facility for immigrant children separated from their families in Upbring, Texas. However, it was her coat that attracted the most attention. It was a blue Zara coat with the words: "I don't really care. Do you?" printed on it, priced at $39.
Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's spokeswoman, insisted the coat had no hidden meaning. "I hope the press doesn't just focus on Melania's wardrobe," Grisham said.
President Donald Trump later weighed in on the matter himself, tweeting, "I really don't care. Do you?" was written on the back of Melania's jacket, referring toFake News Media(referring to the media outlets that constantly attack Trump). Melania knows they are dishonest and she really doesn't care anymore!

However, the wave of criticism against the First Lady of the United States has not stopped there and is becoming increasingly fierce. This has also inspired a few other fashion brands to speak out to clearly express their views.
Brands began releasing their own versions of the olive green jacket with contrasting text, joining the community in criticizing Melania.
Portland brand Wildfang has released a limited edition collection titled "I really care, do you?" 100% of the proceeds from the shirt's sale will go to anti-racism organizations in Texas that provide legal services and resources to immigrants.

Not only that, they also personally criticized: "Hey Melenia, we really care. That's why we made this jacket. To say that we stand with immigrants."
The shirts have been selling like hotcakes since they were launched, with thousands of orders placed within an hour, Emma Mcilroy, CEO of Wildfang, told the newspaper.Glamour:“We started with a limited edition and it sold out within two restocks. Our customers have been incredibly supportive and we couldn't be more proud to have made something that fits their needs.”
PSA, a brand managed by Upworthy and GOOD, has also released its design. The T-shirt, which reads: "I really care," is available for pre-order and will be donated to the immigrant youth network United We Dream.

Lingua Franca, an American knitwear brand, has also been quick to create a hand-stitched sweater that reads “We care a lot.” The company will donate $100 for every sale of one to a charity of the customer’s choice.
In recent days, the fashion world has been abuzz with Melania Trump’s sensitive jacket. Although it is not clear what the First Lady of the United States’ intentions were when she wore this jacket at the Texas airport, it also shows another encouraging sign. That is, the fashion world is ready to stand on the opposite side of the White House to clearly show its political and social views.
