(Baonghean) - On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2015, environmental sanitation work is taken care of by all levels, sectors, agencies, units and people. These activities contribute to building clean and beautiful residential areas, adding more colors to spring.

On the spring roads of Nghe An, we felt the Tet atmosphere and the joyful Spring of the people in the residential areas. At Kim Lien relic site, the spring scene is further embellished by the green of trees and the bright colors of flowers.

Coming from Hanoi to offer incense to Uncle Ho at the relic site, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Lan shared: “In the first days of the new year, returning to Uncle Ho's hometown makes my heart feel so peaceful and serene. The scenery of the new rural village is spacious, clean and beautiful, making everyone feel like they are immersed in the scenery of their homeland.”

Mr. Nguyen Ba Hoe - Director of Kim Lien Relic Site, said: This year's Tet, the Relic Site welcomes about 2,000 people every day to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and visit Uncle Ho's paternal and maternal hometowns. Therefore, in addition to ensuring good service for visitors, environmental sanitation and landscape beautification are of special concern to Kim Lien Relic Site. In addition to the contract with Huy Hiep Joint Stock Company to take care of trees and clean the entire relic site daily, before Tet, the Relic Site's Youth Union coordinated with the Kim Lien Commune Youth Union and local secondary and primary schools to clean all the roads leading to the Relic Site and the roads inside the Relic Site.

Mr. Hoe also added: “Normally, visitors to the relic site bring candy, fruit, drinks... therefore, this year, the relic site has arranged dozens of additional trash bins on the roads in the relic site to serve visitors; at the same time, regularly propagate, remind, and guide visitors to comply with the regulations on disposing of trash in the right place...”.

The days before, during and after the Lunar New Year of At Mui were sunny and mild, and people everywhere were excited about spring. Asked about the work of those who do not take a break for Tet, Ms. Nguyen Thi Suong, from production team number 2, shared: “After nearly 10 years of working in this profession, although we do not have a break for Tet every year, but looking at the clean and beautiful streets with our efforts, those of us who work in environmental sanitation also feel happy…”.

To collect the amount of waste many times larger than usual, the environmental sanitation workers have to work hard day and night. According to Mr. Hoang Van Khanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Nghe An Urban Environment One Member Co., Ltd., to ensure environmental sanitation before, during and after the Lunar New Year, the company has mobilized 100% of workers to work overtime and 100% of vehicles, machines and equipment to serve environmental sanitation work throughout the city and surrounding areas. At places such as Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh Station area, Provincial Cultural - Information Center, Hong Son Temple, Vinh Market and entertainment spots such as Central Park, Cua Nam, Cua Bac flower gardens, Nguyen Tat Thanh Park... large amounts of fallen leaves and garbage are also collected regularly every day.

Besides the above mentioned beauties, there are still some roads and residential areas that do not strictly implement the proper disposal of garbage, some households even hang garbage bags on tree branches, along the streets... Especially, in the days after Tet, at the beginning of the season, there will be a lot of garbage, which is peach branches, apricot blossoms, kumquat trees, flowers... dumped by families. Therefore, to ensure clean and beautiful residential areas, it is necessary for each citizen to raise awareness to join hands in protecting the environment.
