Suspect detained urgently for causing market fire.
After stabbing Mrs. T and causing injuries, Mr. Phuc opened the valve of a large gas cylinder in the kiosk, causing a fierce fire to erupt and quickly spread to adjacent kiosks.

Regarding the fire at the central market in Thanh Tung commune, on August 24th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Ca Mau Provincial Police issued an emergency detention order against Pham Van Phuc (63 years old) to investigate his involvement in the incident.intentional infliction of injuryand property damage.
According to initial investigations, Mr. Pham Van Phuc lived with Ms. BPT (52 years old) as husband and wife in a kiosk she rented in Thanh Tung Market (Thanh Tung commune, Ca Mau province). During their cohabitation, due to jealousy, the two frequently had conflicts and arguments.
At approximately 11:30 AM on August 22nd, Mr. Phuc attacked Ms. T with a knife, causing injuries. The victim fled outside and was taken to the hospital by local residents.
Shortly afterward, Mr. Phuc opened the valve of a large gas cylinder in his kiosk, causing a fierce fire that quickly spread to adjacent kiosks. The fire was finally brought under control around 2 PM that same day. Mr. Phuc suffered injuries to his hand and smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
According to a report from the People's Committee of Thanh Tung commune, the fire completely destroyed 57 kiosks belonging to 31 small traders, instead of the 56 kiosks belonging to 25 traders initially reported. The total estimated damage is over 20 billion VND.
Some small business owners suffered heavy losses, including: Mr. Bui Huu Ba (8 kiosks, losses exceeding 4 billion VND), Mr. Phan Hoang Kiem (3 kiosks, losses exceeding 3 billion VND), and Mr. Dang Minh Chanh (3 kiosks, losses exceeding 3 billion VND)...
Notably, among the affected small traders, 18 households do not have their own homes, with 3 households facing homelessness. The People's Committee of Thanh Tung commune has had to borrow houses from residents around the market to provide temporary accommodation, while mobilizing forces to dismantle and clear the site, with completion expected by August 24th.
Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Ca Mau province is continuing to investigate and clarify the case in order to handle the actions of Mr. Pham Van Phuc in the Thanh Tung market fire according to the law.
