According to the news agency, the fighter jet made its first demonstration flight on August 21 at a ceremony ahead of the country's upcoming National Defense Day. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was present at the demonstration flight.
A week earlier, Iranian Defense Minister Amir Khatami had spoken about the unveiling of the new aircraft. He stressed that Iran was acting within the framework of a “strategy of active containment,” and recalled that Tehran had never attacked other countries.
