(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 27th, the Economic Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, in coordination with the Nghe An Veterans Association, organized a training conference on sustainable poverty reduction in 2016.

Attending the conference, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association was Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Dao - Vice Chairman. On behalf of Nghe An province was Mr. Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Over the course of one day, participants were introduced to the methods and procedures for assessing poor and near-poor households according to the multidimensional approach (in addition to average income, there are other approaches such as health, culture, etc.) applied for the period 2016-2020 by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; some new policies on sustainable poverty reduction; and approaches to borrowing capital from the Social Policy Bank...

Veterans listened as instructors from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs presented the methods and procedures for assessing poor and near-poor households according to a multidimensional approach.

In addition, the conference also included presentations from groups and individuals on experiences in building models of veterans helping each other reduce poverty and excel in economic activities.
