(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the Project "Supporting youth in vocational training and job creation in the period 2008 - 2015" of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, in recent years Anh Son District Youth Union has deployed many training and career guidance activities, prioritizing job creation for rural youth, and has had positive changes.

One of the key tasks that Cam Son Commune Youth Union has implemented in its annual action plan is “Accompanying young people in career guidance, vocational training and job creation”, helping young people learn about reality and gradually orient their careers. Specifically, in 2015, the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee coordinated to open 2 vocational training classes on cultivation and veterinary animal husbandry for young people. Some typical examples of young people who are good at production and business have emerged. Currently, Cam Son Commune has 10 youth economic development models with incomes of 50-100 million VND/year.

A typical example is the economic development model of Mr. To Duy Binh in village 1/5, Cam Son commune with a comprehensive livestock farm model, focusing on pigs, generating an income of nearly 200 million VND/year. This model of Mr. Binh is learned and implemented by many young people in other localities, sparking a movement of young people staying in their hometowns to get rich.

Currently, Anh Son district has 25,544 youth union members, of which 7,463 are in the locality, with 3,643 unemployed and have to leave their hometown to work in the South and the North. This situation is quite common in rural areas because most of them have many limitations in knowledge and professional skills. Many young people have not yet determined their own abilities as well as the needs of the labor market to choose the right direction. A part of the youth are afraid of difficulties and hardships; lack initiative, sensitivity, and have not worked hard to improve their skills and train themselves. Some want to have jobs in their hometown but do not have capital.

Faced with this situation, in 2015, the Anh Son District Youth Union Executive Committee directed the school sector to organize career counseling and guidance programs for young people through the programs “When I am 18”, “Lighting up the dreams of Vietnamese youth”, “What career do you choose” with the participation of more than 1,500 young people. In addition, the District Youth Union Executive Committee also created conditions for young people to access preferential loans to develop the economy, reduce poverty and create jobs for young people, helping young people to establish themselves and start a career.

Up to now, the Youth Union in the whole district has borrowed 49 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank through the Youth Union Executive Committee, helping the Youth Union to develop their economy and serve their studies. In 2015, Anh Son District Youth Union coordinated with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to open 16 classes to teach short-term jobs such as growing sugarcane, growing rice, Japanese sweet potatoes, making brooms, industrial sewing, and livestock welding techniques for 482 students.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ha - Secretary of Anh Son District Youth Union said: "In the coming time, the District Youth Union Executive Committee will strengthen propaganda and mobilize young people to actively participate in career guidance, vocational training, job creation and labor export activities so that they know and choose suitable careers; create conditions for young people to access preferential loans from the Bank for Social Policies; establish savings and loan groups; create conditions for young people to access science and technology in production and business; direct grassroots Youth Union organizations to proactively coordinate with local authorities to solve on-site jobs for young people".
