Global Firepower ranks the strength of Vietnam's Air Force and Navy
Aside from the overall ranking at 16th, where do the Vietnam People's Air Force and Navy currently stand on the Global Firepower organization's rating table?
Air Force
Global Firepower currently ranks the Vietnam People's Air Force 34th out of 133 countries and territories surveyed.
Specifically, they said we currently possess 278 aircraft of various types. Of these, 76 are fighters, 73 are attack aircraft, 161 are transport aircraft, and 25 are trainer aircraft.
According to Global Firepower, the Vietnam People's Air Force has a fairly large helicopter fleet of 137 aircraft, including 25 professional armed helicopters.

The above information from Global Firepower is clearly for reference only. For example, Vietnam currently has no real attack helicopters since the Mi-24A squadron retired, but the report gives a surprisingly large number.
Furthermore, if the number of species is added together as above, the number will exceed 278, the reason is most likely explained by the existence of cross-breeding between species.
For example, the Su-30MK2 can be classified as both a fighter and a ground-to-sea attack aircraft. Similarly, the 161 transport aircraft will include both C-295M fixed-wing aircraft and Mi-8/17 helicopters.
Navy
According to Global Firepower, the Vietnam People's Navy is currently ranked 36th out of 110 countries and territories considered.
This list is shorter than air force because many countries have quite special geographical conditions, that is, they are landlocked.
However, the very surprising and perhaps funny thing is that the ranking includes the Lao Navy (65th place because they still build a force operating on the river under the name "Navy").

Global Firepower said that the Vietnamese Navy currently has 65 ships of various types, including 7 frigates (Frigate - Petya and Gepard 3.9), 13 small-sized corvettes (Corvette - Molniya, BPS-500...), 6 submarines (Kilo 636 class, not counting mini-submarines purchased from North Korea), 25 small patrol boats and 8 minesweepers (Yuka and Sonya).
The above ranking by Global Firepower is based only on quantity and not on quality, so the North Korean Navy occupies the number 1 position with 967 ships of all types, China is in second place with 714 ships, and the United States is in third place with 415 ships.
Next are Iran - 398 ships, Russia - 352 ships, Egypt - 319 ships, India - 295 ships, Finland 270 ships, Colombia - 234 ships and Indonesia - 221 ships.
