According to the 2017 military ranking report, Globalfirepower ranked the Vietnam People's Army 16th in the world, surpassing many countries in the region and only behind Indonesia (14th). Among the three Indochinese countries, Vietnam's military strength is the most outstanding, with Cambodia ranked 88th and Laos ranked 122nd out of 128 countries in this ranking. Globalfirepower believes that Vietnam's current population is about 95 million people.
