Gmail will warn you if an email comes from an unsafe address. |
According to Zdnet, Google will add a new security feature to Gmail on the web and on Android devices this week. If an email sent to your inbox is potentially dangerous, a red question mark will appear next to the sender's profile picture, company logo or avatar... to raise your alertness.
The warnings are part of an effort to combat phishing emails, which are often used by hackers to scam users and steal billions of dollars each year. Google says that not all emails with a red question mark are dangerous, but it is a sign to pay more attention.
