Google recommends not using Google Maps to find missing planes
Google has warned authorities around the world not to use its Google Maps search engine to search for traces of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
Google issued the statement after some people claimed to have spotted flight MH370 on satellite images available on the Google website, the Daily Mirror reported.
Malaysia's English-language newspaper, The Star, has received numerous calls from internet users claiming they have spotted signs that could be from MH370 on satellite images.

The Star said that pointing out various images on Google Maps clearly showing the image of a plane, many believe it is MH370.
Many internet users were convinced that MH370 landed on an island in Vietnam. Others believed that MH370's location was near Kenyir Dam, in Terengganu, Malaysia.
In a statement to the Daily Mirror, Google said: “The images may be there, but they are not real-time images. They could be weeks, or months old.”
With those explanations, Google recommends not using Google Maps to search for the missing Malaysian plane because it may not be accurate.
