PV:Dear comrade, how do you feel about being a candidate for the 14th National Assembly in your home province?
Comrade Nguyen Huu Cau:Through the process of introduction and consultation, I was introduced by the Nghe An Provincial Election Committee to run for the 14th National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term. I am deeply aware that this is both an honor and a great responsibility before the voters; therefore, I determined that first of all, I myself must constantly cultivate and practice revolutionary ethics to be worthy of being a representative of the people; have specific and practical action programs; contribute to making cadres and people correctly understand and seriously implement the Party's policies and the State's laws.

PV:As a member of the Provincial Party Committee, member of the Provincial People's Committee, Director of the Provincial Police, if elected by the voters of the province as a delegate to the Provincial People's Council or National Assembly, what will you prioritize?
Comrade Nguyen Huu Cau:I will actively research and learn to participate in the leadership and direction of the implementation of the Party and State's policies and guidelines on socio-economic development; strengthening national defense and security... Proactively advise the Party Committee and government and coordinate well with departments, branches and organizations at all levels to effectively implement major policies of the Central and the province on ensuring security and order, especially on border security, mountainous areas and ethnic groups; social security, rural security; crime prevention and social evils; not to be passive, surprised or to have "hot spots" or complications in security and order.
Promote administrative reform in all areas of public security work; especially in the management and issuance of passports, identity cards, vehicle registration and management... to promptly and quickly resolve the legitimate requests and aspirations of the people.
Determined to lead and direct the building of Nghe An Police force according to the theme "5 more", which are "more disciplined, more dedicated, more polite, more determined and more prestigious". In which, strengthen the tightening of discipline, order and regulations; build a cultural lifestyle to serve the people. At the same time, regularly organize police forums to listen to people's opinions; increase the force to stay close to the grassroots to coordinate to promptly resolve emerging issues related to security and order right at the grassroots, contributing to protecting the peaceful and happy life of the people.
PV:As a person with a doctorate in law, if you were to contribute your opinions to legal documents in the next term of the National Assembly, what issue would you pay special attention to?
Comrade Nguyen Huu Cau:I will actively participate in building and perfecting the legal system towards building a socialist rule-of-law state; participate in effectively implementing the supervision activities of the National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council on the law enforcement of state agencies, socio-political organizations and the people. Regularly grasp issues related to the implementation of the Party's guidelines and resolutions, policies and laws of the State and localities, especially difficult and inadequate issues; manifestations of violations, negativity, corruption, loopholes and shortcomings in socio-economic management... to recommend competent authorities to handle and overcome, contributing to building increasingly clean and strong governments at all levels.
