Pooling money to buy drugs, two "addicts" end up in jail together
(Baonghean.vn) - Nguyen Huu Khanh and Nguyen Dinh Thang discussed pooling 100 million VND to buy crystal meth to store for later use. As soon as they bought the drugs and had not yet divided them, the police discovered and arrested them.
On October 17, the Provincial People's Court opened a trial of Nguyen Dinh Thang (born 1968) and Nguyen Huu Khanh (born 1974), residing in Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district, for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".

Khanh and Thang were both addicted to drugs for over 10 years, so they discussed buying the "goods" for themselves. On the morning of June 10, Khanh went to the Thanh Thuy border gate to meet a Lao man to agree on the drug purchase. The Lao man offered 100 million VND/kg of crystal meth. Khanh informed Thang, and the two agreed to contribute 50 million VND each to get the goods.
On June 17, Khanh went to the pre-arranged location with the Laotian to deliver the money and receive the goods. Khanh hid the drugs in a field near his house and called Thang to come over that evening to divide them.
At about 9:30 p.m. the same day, the two people went to the field to get drugs to Khanh's house to divide, but were discovered and caught red-handed by Thanh Chuong District Police.
At the trial, defendants Nguyen Dinh Thang and Nguyen Huu Khanh admitted all their crimes. Considering the case as a whole, the panel sentenced Nguyen Dinh Thang and Nguyen Huu Khanh each to 18 years in prison.
