Exemplary lay people learning from and following Uncle Ho's teachings.

(Baonghean.vn) -Among the 16 exemplary individuals in Anh Son district who implemented Directive 03-CT/TW on studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, there is Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, a Catholic from Hamlet 5, Hoa Son Commune. He, along with the delegation, had the opportunity to report their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh in Kim Lien, Nam Dan.

In Hamlet 5, Hoa Son, everyone knows Mr. Nguyen Van Minh because he has served for many years as a production team leader, head of the hamlet's Fatherland Front committee, and inspector. As a "cadre" in a hamlet where 120 out of 209 households are Catholic, Mr. Minh believes that as a citizen of Vietnam, whether religious or secular, one must abide by the Party's policies and the State's laws, live a virtuous life, and love one's country and respect God. He and his family always set a good example by practicing what they preach. He has done a good job advising hamlet officials on how to disseminate information among Catholic parishioners, promoting the law on religion and religious activities in accordance with the law.

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh presented his report at the Anh Son district's conference summarizing the first two years of implementing Directive 03-TC/TƯ.

Mr. Minh's outstanding achievement is his excellent work in mobilizing the people to implement land conversion and crop diversification. His family applies scientific and technological advancements to crops and livestock, converting 2 hectares of first-grade rice fields to fertile land for growing gourds, pumpkins, and chili peppers, yielding double the income of the rice crop; and converting unstable, fertile land to grow green pumpkins. He also encouraged villagers to produce bio-fertilizers, ensuring both production and cost savings, as directed by the Farmers' Association.

Under the leadership of the Party branch, Front Committee officials and mass organizations mobilized the people to donate land for the construction of concrete roads to build new rural areas. The people unanimously agreed, and 1500 meters of concrete road were the result of this movement. 51 households voluntarily dismantled 1182 meters of fences, including 13 households dismantling 292 meters of walls and 38 households dismantling temporary fences, donating 384 square meters of land for the road. Mr. Minh's family alone dismantled 74 meters of built fence and donated 75 square meters of land.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Chairman of the Hoa Son Commune People's Committee: "Mr. Minh is also a talented artist in Hamlet 5. Every time the commune organizes the 'Village of Lotus' singing festival, Hamlet 5 participates, and most of the performers are Catholic parishioners, including Mr. Minh."

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh was awarded a certificate of commendation at the conference.

With these achievements, parishioner Nguyen Van Minh has received numerous commendations from the District and Commune People's Committees. He is also a model parishioner, an exemplary figure in studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.
