(Baonghean.vn) - In response to the call for Tet (Lunar New Year) for the poor from the Provincial Party Secretary during the Year of the Goat 2015, each Party member and official chose a poor household to care for and help.

The appeal letter from the Provincial Party Secretary touched the hearts of millions of people in Nghe An, both within the province and those living far from home. With generous hearts and a sense of responsibility to build their homeland, everyone joined hands to alleviate the hardships of Nghe An, ensuring that the poor received food and gifts during the Lunar New Year.

The noble act that the author wishes to share with everyone is that of a woman who overcame poverty to share the difficulties of her fellow villagers: Mrs. Lang Thi Vinh, 60 years old, from Cam Hoa village, Cam Son commune, Anh district. Present at the Cam Hoa ferry landing on the morning of January 30, 2015, we witnessed a 60-year-old woman from an ethnic minority group and her grandson carrying sacks of rice (25 kg/sack) from the ferry to an ox cart to transport back to the village. Upon inquiry, we learned that Mrs. Lang Thi Vinh had personally met with village head Lang Van Tham to request a list of impoverished households in the village. She then went to a rice distributor and bought 800 kg of rice to distribute to the poor villagers for this year's Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration.

When asked what motivated her kind gesture, the elderly woman simply smiled and said, "I also come from a poor background, so I understand how much the poor need sharing. Thank you to the Party for giving me the life I have today. Now my two children are grown, have jobs and income. Although my family is not yet wealthy, I encourage my family to set aside a small portion of our resources to help the poor in our village, commune, district, and province. The whole community can do it, but we can't." These seemingly simple and unpretentious words are filled with so much emotion and the responsibility of a citizen, echoing the call to share with the poor, as the Provincial Party Secretary did. It is thought that in our society, there are still many difficult circumstances that need help. But the civic consciousness and the spirit of sharing with the poor and the community, as exemplified by Mrs. Luong Thi Vinh in Cam Hoa, Cam Son, Anh Son, is truly admirable.
