In this match, Sevilla dominated from the start. And coach Jorge Sampaoli's students opened the score in the 4th minute thanks to Paulo Ganso with an accurate finish in the penalty area after a pass from Stevan Jovetic.
After the goal, Sevilla continued to press the pitch and create more chances. However, it was not until the beginning of the second half that the home team was able to convert their advantage into a goal to double the gap. The player who scored the second goal for Sevilla was still Ganso with a tap-in from close range after a cross from the left wing by Pablo Sarabia.
With this victory, Sevilla firmly established their fourth position on the rankings with 65 points, 11 points ahead of Villarreal and considered to have one hand on a ticket to the Champions League next season.
