'Ha Kieu Anh is very wrong to claim to be the 7th princess of the Nguyen Dynasty'
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Vinh Khanh - the 5th generation descendant of Tuy Ly Vuong, believes that Miss Ha Kieu Anh claiming to be the 7th generation princess of the Nguyen Dynasty is a sign of not understanding her own family line. And doing so is inadvertently defaming her own family line.
Ha Kieu Anh claims to be the 7th princess of the Nguyen Dynasty.
On the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day, June 28, Miss Ha Kieu Anh shared on her personal page photos and information about her "royal" origin. Accordingly, Miss Vietnam 1992 said that she is the 7th generation princess of the Nguyen Dynasty.

In Ha Kieu Anh's story, there is a detail that King Minh Mang had an 11th "prince" named Tuy Ly Vuong. Tuy Ly Vuong was also affectionately called "poet" by the people because he was talented in writing poetry, "farmer" because he often wore brown clothes to guide people in farming, and "filial piety" because he was very filial to his mother.
He welcomed his mother, Le Thi Ai, also known as Le Tiep Du Tu, to live in Tuy Ly Vuong Palace to take care of her until she passed away. Tuy Ly Vuong Palace was later recognized by the State as a National Historical Relic.
Mr. Tuy Ly Vuong gave birth to a son named Huong Ngai, also known as Mr. Huong Nha. He gave birth to 4 boys and 3 girls, including Mrs. Cong Tang Ton Nu Truyen Kinh, the great-grandmother of Miss Ha Kieu Anh. Mrs. Cong Tang Ton Nu Truyen Kinh was the third wife of Mr. Nguyen Tang Loc, also a mandarin in the Nguyen Dynasty. Mrs. Truyen Kinh gave birth to 2 children (1 boy, 1 girl). The daughter was Mrs. Nguyen Tang Dieu Huong - the grandmother of Ha Kieu Anh.
"No wonder my grandmother always said: "I am the daughter of the King, the granddaughter of the Lord, you are also the 7th generation 'princess'". Every time I returned to Hue, I visited King Minh Mang's tomb, burned incense for my great-grandfather, visited Tuy Ly Vuong palace, burned incense for my great-grandfather and grandfather", Ha Kieu Anh wrote.

Miss Ha Kieu Anh said that this is a story she heard from her grandmother. Because when she was alive, she was always proud of the family blood flowing through her veins. Her stories about her roots also gave her strength during the most difficult times.
According to Miss Ha Kieu Anh, telling this story is not to brag but to increase her pride in her lineage and origin. She also could not have expected the story to cause so many mixed reactions.
Nguyen Dynasty descendants confirm Ha Kieu Anh said "bad things"
The 5th generation descendant of King Tuy Ly Nguyen Phuoc Vinh Khanh - member of the Thua Thien Hue Historical Science Association and currently Deputy Head of Tuy Ly Vuong's Office said that Ha Kieu Anh's claim to be the "7th generation princess" is completely incorrect.

"According to historical records, Emperor Minh Mang gave his biological sons the middle name Mien, his grandchildren (royal grandsons) the middle name Hong (misread as Huong), the next generations were Ung/ Buu/ Vinh/ Bao/... If we count from Tuy Ly Vuong's generation to Ha Kieu Anh's generation, let's say 7 generations, then it corresponds to the word "Bao". Simply put, it has a distant origin with Tuy Ly Vuong. No one denies that and no one objects to that.
However, Ha Kieu Anh made a very bad move by calling herself "princess". This is extremely taboo and should not be done. Because "princess" is a beautiful word and according to the Nguyen Dynasty's principle, only those who are granted a title by the king can be called "princess". Even the king's sons and daughters in the past were only called "princess", "royal grandson". Titles such as "princess", "prince", "crown prince"... cannot be arbitrarily called and cannot be arbitrarily received", Nguyen Phuoc Vinh Khanh analyzed.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Vinh Khanh also analyzed that Miss Ha Kieu Anh had misspelled the name of Mrs. Huong Ngai, misspelled the name of her great-grandmother and misspelled the name of Mrs. Tiep Du - the wife of King Minh Mang.

On Vietnamese Family Day, on her personal Facebook, Ha Kieu Anh identified herself as the 7th princess of the Nguyen Dynasty. |
"Ha Kieu Anh said that her great-grandmother - the daughter of Huong Ngai (son of Tuy Ly Vuong - Mien Trinh) - was on the same level as the word "Ung" - that is, Cong Ton Nu, but here she is considered Cong Tang Ton Nu - that is, on the same level as the word Buu, which is the great-grandchild...
Then Ha Kieu Anh said about Mrs. Tiep Du - King Minh Mang's wife, calling her Tiep Phi is wrong in both semantics and rank. In the 17th year of Minh Mang (1836), the Holy Ancestor established the position of Royal Noble Consort to assist the Queen, divided into 9 ranks below called Cuu Giai. Tiep Du is in the Luc Giai rank, which is 4 or 5 ranks away from Phi Vi.
This proves that Ha Kieu Anh does not understand anything about the generation and semantics of each name in her family line. Doing so is inadvertently defaming her family line. Instead of speaking out to honor her ancestors and family line, she instead speaks false information, causing counterproductive or adverse effects. This is not something that should be done at all.
I am not saying that I do not accept Ha Kieu Anh as a descendant of any family line. What I am trying to say is that anyone, when talking about a family line, needs to have self-respect and self-respect and understand the family line before speaking. The more you are a beauty queen, the more you have to speak moderately and with understanding. The ancients said "Words are blood", wrong steps can be taken back to make the right move, but wrong words cannot be taken back".
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Vinh Khanh, after this incident, if Ha Kieu Anh returns to Hue to visit her ancestors, roots, family... he will still welcome her as a very distant granddaughter of the family.
