Hanoi officially finalizes 2016 primary school enrollment plan

The Hanoi People's Committee has officially approved the Hanoi Department of Education and Training's Proposal on enrollment in kindergartens, grades 1, 6 and 10 for the 2016-2017 school year in the city.

Accordingly, admission to grades 1 and 6 will continue to be conducted by selection. Selection is based on the admission route as determined by the People's Committee of the district, town, or city. Ensure that 100% of children have a place to study in the area. No entrance exams will be held for grades 1 and 6.

Enrollment period: From July 1, 2016 to July 15, 2016.

Enrollment plans of districts, towns and cities are on the electronic information portals of districts, towns and cities and of the Department.

The plan for admission to non-specialized high schools in grade 10 combines entrance exams with selection. The entrance exam will be on June 8, 2016, with the morning exam being Literature and the afternoon exam being Math.

For specialized 10th graders (Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, Chu Van An High School and Son Tay High School), the exam will take place in two rounds:

Preliminary selection of candidates with sufficient conditions and documents; round 2, entrance exam includes subjects of Literature, Math, Foreign Language (coefficient 1) and specialized subject (coefficient 2), in which two subjects of Literature and Math are taken together with the entrance exam to grade 10 of non-specialized high school.

Exam time is June 8, 2016 (morning exam is Literature, afternoon exam is Math along with non-specialized grade 10 entrance exam);

June 9, 2016: Morning exam for Foreign Language; afternoon exam for specialized subjects: Literature, Math, Information Technology, Biology, French, Japanese (as a replacement exam to enter other specialized foreign language classes);

June 10, 2016: Morning exam on specialized subjects Physics, History, Geography, Chemistry, English.
