The 24-year-old striker, who grew up at Hanoi's academy, signed a new contract until 2031; has made 63 appearances, scored 6 goals for the first team, and won the SEA Games 2021 gold medal with U23 Vietnam and the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 championship.

Hanoi FC extended the contract with striker Nguyen Van Tung until 2031. This move was made by the club's Board of Directors to recognize the 24-year-old player's contributions and affirm the long-term commitment to the resources trained by the club itself.

Contract until 2031 and HR message

According to information from the club, the decision to extend the contract was made based on the recognition of the efforts and desire for long-term cooperation of both sides. Nguyen Van Tung shared: “To me, Hanoi Football Club has great significance. This is where I grew up and achieved certain successes. The new contract will motivate me to contribute more to the team.”

With a striker in his prime, the 5-year contract allows Hanoi FC to maintain stability in the squad, while also creating time for player number 23 to gain playing experience and perfect his scoring ability.

The journey from Dong Anh to Hanoi FC first team

Born and raised in Dong Anh (Hanoi), Nguyen Van Tung joined the youth training center of Hanoi Football Club in 2016. The 2022 National U21 Finals was a turning point, paving the way for him to register to compete in V-League 2022.

In that same season, he and his teammates completed a historic “treble”: winning the V-League 1, the National Cup and the National Super Cup. Up to now, the player wearing the number 23 shirt has had 63 appearances, scoring 06 goals for the Capital team.

National team mark

At the national team level, Nguyen Van Tung is one of the key strikers of the Vietnamese youth teams. He and the U23 Vietnam team won the Gold Medal in men's football at the 2021 SEA Games and won the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.

On June 15, 2023, he made his national team debut as a starter in a friendly match against Hong Kong (China) at Lach Tray Stadium.

Professional perspective: signals for long-term planning

The number of 6 goals after 63 appearances shows that Van Tung still has a lot of room to break through in terms of efficiency. Signing until 2031 creates a time frame for the club to patiently develop an academy product, helping players accumulate competition experience, continue to strengthen their ability to move, finish and adapt to the tactical requirements of V-League 1.

For Hanoi FC, this is a "fulcrum" of personnel in the striker position, ensuring succession and squad depth for many seasons to come.
