(Baonghean.vn) - The away team members had unsportsmanlike behavior in the match against HAGL in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the 2018 National Cup, causing outrage among the audience at Pleiku Stadium and those watching the match on television.

Ugly pictures

The match between HAGL and Hanoi FC was extremely fierce with fouls, tricks and arguments between players and coaches from both sides. Things became serious when captain Pham Thanh Luong of the representative from the capital was penalized by referee Ngo Duy Lan in a fight for the ball with a player from HAGL.

The former player born in 1988 immediately reacted strongly with rude words, forcing Mr. Ngo Duy Lan to pull out a yellow card as a warning. Not stopping there, the player wearing the number 11 shirt of Hanoi FC continued to react and insult referee Ngo Duy Lan, forcing him to pull out a red card to disqualify Pham Thanh Luong.

Believing that his team was being unfairly treated, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem loudly cursed referee Ngo Duy Lan, despite the efforts of some members of Hanoi FC to stop him.

Referee Ngo Duy Lan had to give the Hanoi captain a red card due to the inappropriate behavior of coach Chu Dinh Nghiem. Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem continued to insult referee Ngo Duy Lan, even though chairman Nguyen Quoc Hoi appeared to calm the situation.

A member of Hanoi FC even threw a water bottle into the stands after HAGL fans protested the ugly behavior of the players and coaching staff of the away team. All of this happened in front of thousands of spectators at Pleiku Stadium, spectators watching the match on TV screens. This is unacceptable.

Public opinion is waiting for specific actions from Mr. Do Quang Hien, after what just happened at Pleiku stadium.

Hanoi FC is destroying itself

The slogan of Hanoi FC is “The pride of Hanoi”. Over the past time, Mr. Hien has expressed his dream of turning Hanoi T&T (now Hanoi FC) into the common asset and pride of Hanoi people. Therefore, Hanoi FC must always play with the spirit of “fairplay”. Only then can the team at Hang Day Stadium hope to conquer the capital’s audience.

Indeed, in previous seasons, Hanoi FC was the team with the most beautiful and attractive play in the V.League arena. However, since last season until now, Hanoi FC has been one of the most ugly teams in the V.League. Besides the “butcher” Hoang Vu Samson, there are Sam Ngoc Duc, Nguyen Van Quyet… Players famous for their ability to take down and beat their opponents.

Yet not long ago, Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem boldly declared: "I think that Hanoi FC's 10-year journey in attracting spectators to the stadium is due to the club itself building a beautiful playing style with its own style. Besides, the effect that U23 Vietnam brings has helped to increase interest significantly.

With the current number of fans, it can be considered a success for Hanoi, but to have more fans and be loyal to the team, the club itself must be better and maintain a good image. I always tell my students to play fair and contribute to attract audiences because attracting audiences to the stadium is very important for players, such as sublimation or awareness and responsibility for the profession.

As the image of the club, everyone has to try and sacrifice a little. Fans spend time and money to come to us, we have to make sure they don't regret spending 90 minutes at the stadium."

It took nearly 10 years of dedication for Hanoi FC to somewhat win over the capital’s audience with their dedicated playing style. Unfortunately, with just 1-2 seasons of ugly behavior like the one at Pleike Stadium on May 11, Mr. Hien’s team will lose a lot of sympathy in the hearts of fans.

Our fathers taught us, “buy a reputation for thirty thousand, sell it for three coins”. Be careful, Hanoi FC!
