Hanoi: 19 market management officials disciplined in two years.
On the afternoon of April 2nd, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Mai, Head of the Hanoi Market Management Department, announced that over the past two years, the Department has dismissed or removed 19 market management officials and civil servants from their positions for violating industry regulations.
Those dismissed included 7 team leaders, 1 department head, 2 deputy team leaders, and 9 civil servants. At the same time, the unit also reassigned 60 civil servants to different positions and rotated 6 team leaders to new roles.
Ms. Nhu Mai also stated that the system of rewards and recognition must go hand in hand with discipline in order to improve the health of the market management team, so that officials and civil servants can perform their functions and duties well according to the law and regulations of the industry.
After serving their disciplinary duties, the officials and employees correctly understood their responsibilities and obligations; they also thanked the leaders of the Sub-Department for giving them the opportunity to prove themselves, and no one engaged in negative behavior.
Disciplining those who violate industry regulations also serves as a deterrent to other officials and civil servants when performing their duties.
To further enhance transparency in market management and facilitate the operation of businesses and household businesses under these difficult conditions, starting in April, the Hanoi Market Management Department requires all market management teams to obtain the approval of the Department's leadership before inspecting these entities. The Department prohibits market management teams from arbitrarily inspecting businesses and household businesses.
In terms of organizational work and force building, the Hanoi Market Management Department has strengthened discipline and order, and reformed methods of evaluating officials; this includes organizing assessments of officials' qualifications and the capabilities of key officials.
The Sub-Department also established a task force, headed by the Sub-Department Chief, to strengthen the inspection and supervision of the performance of duties by civil servants currently carrying out their official duties.
For officials and civil servants who do not comply with the regulations of the law and the sector, the Sub-Department will resolutely take strict action.
