The construction and commissioning of the CSB 8002 vessel aims to strengthen the equipment of the Vietnam Coast Guard, meeting the increasing demands in carrying out tasks such as protecting maritime sovereignty, patrolling, inspecting, controlling, maintaining law enforcement, preventing environmental pollution, protecting aquatic and marine resources; search and rescue; addressing incidents at sea, and creating favorable conditions for fishermen to confidently venture out to sea.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of National Defense, praised the efforts, hard work, creativity, and overcoming of all difficulties by the staff and workers of Song Thu Corporation to successfully complete the assigned tasks.
The General emphasized that, despite the challenging economic conditions, the Party and State have always paid close attention to the task of ensuring national defense and security, including investing in increasingly modern equipment and facilities for the armed forces in general, and the Vietnam Coast Guard in particular.
The General requested that Song Thu Corporation continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Coast Guard Command and relevant agencies to focus on inspecting and completing the remaining tasks so that the CSB 8002 vessel can be put into operation soon. This will contribute to ensuring that the Coast Guard can carry out its duties of patrolling, protecting maritime sovereignty, and enforcing laws in the seas and continental shelf of our country in the future.
