Ha Tinh: Son breaks door, drills safe to steal parents' money
The old farmer's family's savings of a year were taken by his playful son, creating a fake scene.
On January 29, Thach Ha District Police (Ha Tinh) announced that they had just prosecuted and arrested Nguyen Huu Thang (20 years old, residing in Tuong Son commune) for the crime of Theft of property under Article 173 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to investigation documents, four days ago, after waking up and seeing no one at home, Thang used a knife to cut the bars of his parents' bedroom door and crawled inside.
He used a drill and a metal cutter to break into the safe and took nearly 16 million VND of the family's savings.
After committing the crime, Thang turned things upside down, creating a fake crime scene that looked like a break-in.
Thang confessed that because he was addicted to playing, when he was in need, he stole money from his parents.
