Ha Tinh: Helping neighbor set up Tet tree, electrocuted to death
While helping his neighbor erect a pole with his younger brother, Mr. Quoc (Ha Tinh) was electrocuted to death because the pole touched a medium voltage power line.
The incident happened on the afternoon of February 8, when Pham Ngoc Quoc (26 years old, residing in Thach Khe commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh) and his younger brother went to a neighbor's house to help set up a pole to celebrate Tet.

As assigned, Mr. Quoc held the base of the pole, while his younger brother used a ladder to climb up and adjust its position. During this process, the pole touched the medium voltage power line, and the current flowed down, causing Mr. Quoc to be electrocuted and die on the spot. His younger brother fell off and luckily escaped.
Local authorities said Mr. Quoc had the accident while preparing to get married in a few days.
