Ha Vi: "I only love smart men, not necessarily rich men"

The actress of the movie "Tam Cam" shares her views on choosing a lover and opens up about her efforts to find her own direction in the entertainment industry.

- Recently, your imagehand in handwith businessman Quoc Cuong attracted public attention. What do you share about this love story?

- That's our private matter and unfortunately it has become a topic of discussion and comment. My life and work have never been noisy. I don't like to be noticed too much, so for me right now, silence is golden. I have done absolutely nothing wrong. Love is a sacred thing, not a scandal to be dissected like that.

The time when public opinion about our story was widespread was when I was participating in the filming of the movie Tam Cam. At that time, suddenly receiving too much attention made me feel pressured, stressed, and sometimes wished I could disappear. But I was happy that on the film crew, everyone treated me very normally, making me feel comfortable while working, not feeling scrutinized. My parents also encouraged me a lot to be stronger in the face of the "storm of public opinion".

- What kind of man makes you feel moved and fall in love?

- Looking at my appearance, many people easily think I am fragile and weak. But when they get to know me, they will understand that I am very individualistic, strong, and like independence and self-reliance in all aspects. Material things are not a prerequisite for me to be attached to someone. The man I love must be intelligent and kind.

- At 23 years old, without help from your lover or any support, how could you afford to study abroad in Singapore and start your own business in Saigon?

- I am the only child in the family but my parents never raised me in a way that they spoiled me, giving me whatever I wanted. When I was 20 years old, my whole family moved from my hometown in Hai Phong to Ho Chi Minh City. After a while, my parents returned to their hometown, but I stayed to study acting at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema. I studied and worked at the same time. Thanks to being noticed at several beauty contests, I received an invitation to work as a photo model. This job helped me improve my income quite a bit.

The first large sum of money I earned from modeling was 1.5 million VND. At that time, I was filled with tears when I held the money. Later, I gradually improved my income. After 2-3 years, I had saved enough money to support my dream of studying abroad in Singapore for a year. I wanted to study abroad to train myself in a new environment, learn more English, and develop the ability to adapt to all situations.

In Singapore, I was lucky to rent a cheap house through a friend's recommendation. On weekends, I flew back to Vietnam to model and participate in advertising activities. When I work hard, I can take care of myself without bothering my parents.

- What chance did a newcomer like you have to get the main role in the movie "Tam Cam"?

- Even when I acted in the movie Tam Cam with Ngo Thanh Van, many people thought that I had a relationship before. But in fact, I went to the casting seriously and was challenged by Ngo Thanh Van herself to decide to join the film crew.

Up until now, I have been working alone, without any personal team to support me. I also do not rely on a boyfriend or any relationships.

- How do you feel when many people affectionately call you "The beauty that everyone loves?"

- Honestly, I like beautiful people whether one person is crazy about them or a few people are crazy about them. But when it comes to "ten thousand people being crazy about them", I start to feel tired and annoyed (laughs). On the outside, I just feel cute and pretty, but sometimes I feel normal. Now that many people affectionately call me that, I feel even more pressured because I have to take better care of my appearance every time I appear. I will probably need a stylist to help me with this in the near future, because I have always been sloppy. Besides modeling, I dress very normally, with a rather tomboyish fashion sense.

I think it's hard for any man who comes into contact with me to have "bad intentions" because I'm straightforward, straightforward, have clear likes and dislikes, and don't know how to be sweet or affectionate with men.

- What made you go from being a famous model to acting?

- In the past, I was invited to participate in a TV series. But when I read the script, I found the content of the film and the character not suitable because the role was too psychologically heavy. But now, I feel more mature in both life and work experience, so I want to try my hand at cinema to open up more opportunities for myself to develop my abilities.

After nearly two months working on the set of Tam Cam, I have clearly matured. In a film crew of nearly 300 people, with a fast-paced, highly focused work schedule, I learned the decisive and strong working style of Ms. Ngo Thanh Van, the acting talent of artists Thanh Loc and Huu Chau, and the love for the job and dedication of young faces such as Ms. Lan Ngoc, Issac, ST...

I am very happy that I have been involved in movies and not just let myself be framed in the illusion of the title of beauty, hot girl. Besides my passion for acting, I am also passionate about the business field. I am trying very hard to find opportunities to open my own business as well as develop myself in the entertainment industry.
