Two girls drowned in a tourist area.

While strolling along the lake without adult supervision, two girls, aged 6 and 7, fell into the water and drowned. Thirty minutes later, a lake worker discovered their bodies floating on the surface of the lake.

At 7:00 AM on May 15th, Thanh (7 years old) and Ngoc (6 years old) didn't go to school but instead went to the Green Sail eco-tourism area (Ninh Hiep commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi) to play. Seeing Mrs. Lam Thi Dieu (63 years old, a cleaner at the eco-tourism area), the two girls playing by the lake held out a 10,000 VND note and asked her to sell them popcorn. "I told them they had to go to the shop near the gate to buy popcorn. Then the two girls went outside, and I continued cleaning before going home because I was tired," Mrs. Dieu recounted.

Thirty minutes later, upon returning to the lake shore and seeing a small child floating on the water, Mrs. Điều screamed in alarm. Ecological park staff searched for the second girl but couldn't find her, so they waded into the lake to search and later found her body in the middle of the lake. Both victims were taken to the Ninh Hiệp commune health station for emergency treatment, but they had already died.

The Green Sail eco-tourism area has been operating for 6 years, specializing in organizing weddings and birthday parties. Because there is no entrance fee, this recreational area attracts many people from within and outside the commune.
