Two suicide notes at the scene of 4 deaths in Ha Tinh
Authorities discovered two suicide notes about debt believed to have been written by Mr. Thanh and his wife.
On the afternoon of October 20, Ha Tinh authorities said that through an autopsy of the scene where four members of Nguyen Tien Thanh's family (resident of Ky Hop commune) died by hanging, police discovered two suicide notes believed to have been written by him and his wife.
Mr. Duong Xuan Tinh, a police officer of Ky Hop commune, informed that the content of the letter mentioned family life. In it, Mr. Thanh's letter stated: "In the past 8 years, our family has gone through many storms and hardships, but this is also the happiest time for our parents. Because of love, our parents gave birth to two children. The two children are our trust, nothing can compare. We apologize to you a thousand times."
Mr. Thanh later explained that he sought death because his life had been in a deadlock for the past few years. Before coming to the final decision, the couple struggled and thought a lot; they felt that life was full of pressure, and there seemed to be no way out.
"By the time you read this letter, our family will have passed away," the letter said to be from Mr. Thanh.
In the remaining letter, Ms. Thanh (Mr. Thanh's wife) expressed her apology and "hoped everyone would accept the truth, not be sad and promise to live a good life."
