On the afternoon of August 3, the Security Investigation Agency (SIA) - Ministry of Public Security decided to prosecute and temporarily detain Do Manh Tuan (born in 1979) - Vice Principal of Lac Thuy District Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities and Nguyen Khac Tuan (born in 1981) - specialist of the Examination Department - Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province for the crime of "Taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties".

Two subjects were prosecuted in connection with violations in the 2018 national high school exam in Hoa Binh province.

Previously, on August 2, the Investigation Security Agency of Hoa Binh Province Police initiated a criminal case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties", according to Article 356 - Penal Code to investigate the act of falsifying the results of candidates when grading exams. The People's Procuracy of Hoa Binh Province then transferred this case to the Investigation Security Agency - Ministry of Public Security for clarification.

Also on the afternoon of August 3, a working group consisting of two officers from the Investigation Security Agency - Ministry of Public Security coordinated with representatives of the Supreme People's Procuracy to search the house of Mr. Nguyen Khac Tuan, residing in Group 21, Tan Thinh Ward (Hoa Binh City). Attending the search were representatives of Tan Thinh Ward police and the head of the residential group, but Mr. Tuan was absent. It is known that Nguyen Khac Tuan's house was also the place where Do Manh Tuan stayed during the exam marking process and when he went to the Department of Education and Training for work. After an hour of searching, the investigation agency brought a number of documents in a suitcase.

According to local people, Mr. Nguyen Khac Tuan occasionally plays volleyball with local people. After the press published the news, people learned and discussed Mr. Tuan's involvement in the cheating scandal in the recent graduation exam.
