Two SLNA players were summoned by Coach Park to prepare for SEA Games 31
(Baonghean.vn) - Head coach Park Hang-seo has proposed a list of 27 U23 players for the final training period to prepare for the 31st SEA Games, including 2 players from SLNA.
Recently, VFF andCoach Park Hang-seoand his colleagues had to carefully calculate to make a preliminary list of 40-50 players. From this list, 27 players were selected to participate in the SEA Games, while those whose names were not included still had the opportunity to be added if the official players contracted Covid-19.
According to the regulations of the SEA Games 31 Men's Football Regulations, teams are allowed to register a maximum of 3 players over 23 years old, so coach Park Hang-seo and his colleagues are considering to have the most optimal choice. The identities of the 3 players over 23 years old of U23 Vietnam will be announced in the near future.

Vietnam U23 will gather on April 7 and will have an important international friendly match with a strong opponent from South Korea. This is the only foreign team of coach Park Hang-seo and his team before entering the big challenge at the largest sports event in the region, starting in May.

In this call-up list, Coach Park Hang-seo called up 2 players from SLNA Club, Nguyen Van Viet and Dang Van Lam.
Nguyen Van Viet, a versatile midfielder, can play on both wings and has solid defensive abilities. He is ready to join the attack but has not shown the necessary breakthrough.

As for midfielder Dang Van Lam, he also made a lot of impressions in the 2020 season, playing for SLNA. However, in that same season, Lam suffered an injury and was out of action for a long time. Coach Park's call-up of Van Lam was a great opportunity for Van Lam to show himself.

On April 6, the draw for the 31st SEA Games football event will be held in Hanoi. At the 31st SEA Games, the men's football event with 10 participating teams (except U.23 Brunei) will start early, before the opening ceremony of the SEA Games. Group A with the U.23 Vietnam team will compete on May 6, 8, 10, 13 and 15 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) and Group B with the U.23 Thailand team will compete on May 7, 9, 11, 14, 16 at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh).
The goal of U.23 Vietnam is to successfully defend the SEA Games Gold Medal.
