Two sisters died from drowning

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of June 26, in Trung Luong hamlet, Tan Xuan commune, Tan Ky district, a drowning incident occurred, causing two biological sisters to tragically die.

They are two sisters: Truong Thi Lien (9 years old) and Truong Van Hieu (9 years old), son of Mr. Truong Van Tri, residing in Trung Luong hamlet, Tan Xuan commune, Tan Ky district (Nghe An). Ms. Truong Thi Nghe, residing in Tan Luong hamlet, said that at about 5:30 p.m., the two sisters went to the grass field 200 meters from their house to fly a kite, unfortunately, the younger brother fell and slipped into a deep water hole. The older sister saw this and jumped in to save him, because she did not know how to swim, the two sisters drowned. It was not until about 7:00 p.m. that the bodies of the two sisters were discovered.

It is known that the water hole was dug by people to get water to irrigate watermelons, 2-3m deep but has no fence.

Upon receiving the news, local authorities, teachers and residents came to pay their respects. On the morning of June 27, the family held a funeral for the two children.

It is known that the two children live with their grandmother. Their mother died early and their father works far away. Hearing the news of their children's death, they only returned home on the evening of the 26th to identify their children.
