Both companies also confirmed that there have been no accidents resulting in injuries related to these technical malfunctions.
According to Ford, the company has recalled 692,500 Escape (SUV) and C-MAX vehicles from the 2013 and 2014 model years because these vehicles have a software defect that could prevent the airbags from deploying in dangerous situations.
Additionally, the company is also recalling 692,700 other Escape vehicles from the 2013-2014 model years due to faulty door handles.
Meanwhile, Chrysler was forced to recall 780,477 pickup trucks to replace the power window switches after receiving customer feedback that the switches were overheating.
The vehicles included in this recall are Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country models from 2010 to 2014, with 644,850 vehicles affected in the US, 106,980 in Canada, over 8,000 in Mexico, and 20,638 in other countries.
